"At the Market", my acrylic painting was featured on the cover of the Jefferson County "This Week" newspaper Arts & Entertainment supplement.

Participation in this event again, along with over 50 other artists, was great. My chair this year was enhanced with glass mosaic tiles, a sand dollar painted on the seat and scenes of sailboats on Port Townsend Bay on the front and back.
"The Chair Affair" auction benefits the Port Townsend Community Consortium for Arts in the Schools Program, now called PT Artscape. Funded primarily by a grant from the Washington State Arts Commission, the consortium provides arts education to students and teachers in the Port Townsend public schools. All proceeds from the auction go to arts programming in the schools.
Approximately 30 artists painted chairs and stools. The kick off event was a silent auction where the chairs were displayed with an "About the Artist" information tag and bid sheet. After the auction the chairs were displayed for the month of May at businesses in conjunction with "Art Wave", an annual showcase of student art.
